Effective allergen management and prevention of cross-contamination requires implementation of good manufacturing practices, a HACCP-based food safety system, and an effective allergen management plan. A developed system for the management of allergenic materials to reduce risk of contamination and meet labelling requirements is necessary for GFSI certification.
