FREE - Language and Skills for Careers in Food Processing Training

The Read On Program (Lethbridge Public Library) and Alberta Workforce Essential Skills (AWES) are pleased to announce an exciting new training opportunity. This course is designed for immigrants new to or wanting to work in the food processing industry of Alberta.

The Language and Skills for Careers in Food Processing will help you:

  • understand what you need to know to work in food processing
  • develop essential skills for jobs in food processing
  • improve your communication skills and have confidence to ask questions if you don’t understand something
  • understand Canadian workplace culture
  • ask questions about how to grow in your career and in Canada

The course includes online videos and face-to-face class time. You will take an essential skills assessment before and after training to find out what level of skills you have before the class and how much you improve after. You will also get a personal skills report and online links to skill building activities.
